A pilgrimage is a journey to an important location to confirm faith and beliefs.
It’s a personal connection with a Holy land.
“PILGRIMAGE” is a photographic series made during my visits in 2011 and 2012 of an open air contemporary art collection (Instituto INHOTIM) located in my family’s homeland state, Minas Gerais/Brazil.
I was drawn to the experience Inhotim offers.
A place to contemplate art and nature.
A fascinating journey where the mind wanders between paths that guide you from rare botanical species to art works and galleries.
The proposal of this series is to transcript my connection with tropical landscape, contemporary art and human work.
This rare connection showed itself to me as a testimony.
I believe in the interference of mankind in nature, to protect her and through the creation of art.

Searching for inspiration in art and in my homeland
I decide to lose my self alone in INHOTIM ́s labyrinth for the first time
I fear it will be another brutal human intervention in nature to expose art But I surrender to the experience and follow the paths
I find a greater energy, green and rare
Artificial pools that reflect light where fish swim beautifully
Gardens cultivated by man in the middle of the jungle
Lakes coloured artificially
Buildings invade the forest
All this made by man to contemplate art and natureI let the journey penetrate my soul as a pilgrim who seeks to confirm faith in the power of Art, Nature and Mankind.
